GEA SCARPA BOOT

Taking all the characteristics of the Maestrale, the Scarpa Gea is distinguished by a lower collar height and a shin tab support adapted to the small size. A flagship model in the range for almost a decade, this Scarpa Gea is a benchmark in terms of freerando shoes. Revised and corrected, it arrives for this winter in its most advanced version. While it retains the proven chassis of the Gea-Maestrale series, it gains in comfort and precision through the adoption of a new bi-density PEBAX construction. For the rest, no change: it has all the assets that have made it successful: good volume on the toe box, a very high instep height, power in the supports and an overall weight more than honorable. The support is excellent and the tightening system allows precise support without hard points on the forefoot: unfortunately thin feet will have to refrain and move towards another model... On the descent side, the PEBAX construction gives a progressive flex and brings a lot of life: the recovery is very good and less dry than on the Gea RS. Versatile, we find a versatile and well-balanced model that will be as comfortable on the slopes as on a long ski tour. Despite everything, its 60° travel lacks fluidity and will greatly penalize it when it is necessary to trace steep or deep slopes.
