The Blaze 106 W is a lightweight and agile freeride and powder ski with a construction that focuses on manoeuvrability. The thin Titanal binding platform concentrates the forces applied and ensures incredibly pleasant and dynamic turn initiation. In narrow passages and/or in difficult conditions, this ski offers particularly convincing responsiveness despite its large width. Its full-length hybrid multi-layer wood core and construction are primarily designed for tight turns, but its 3D Radius Sidecut offers a high degree of variability in the turn radius and adapts to almost any riding style. The Blaze 106 W is ideal for off-piste skiing, and thanks to its lightweight design and performance, it is also suitable for freeride and touring skiing. The Blaze 106 W features an additional Suspension Tip – a material with shock-absorbing properties integrated into the tip and tail – which allows it to perform equally well in powder, wet or windblown snow without losing any of its playfulness. A Titanal Binding Platform that is only 0.3 mm thick allows for direct transmission of support and rapid pressure build-up for high-precision reaction when switching from edge to edge. The benefit of a more precise and faster reaction of the skis is particularly noticeable in narrow passages and on uneven terrain, and also results in reduced physical engagement. All of these advantages are mainly the result of the 3D radius construction. Although the Blaze was designed for fast, tight turns, its three different curve radii, combined with the hybrid multi-layer wood core from tip to tail, are perfectly suited to all types of riding and are suitable for even the most ambitious uses. Another remarkable feature of this ski is the new Suspension Tip, which is used here for the very first time. The elastic rubber material applied to the tip and tail acts as a shock absorber, especially in windblown or choppy snow conditions, and ensures increased resistance to disturbances as well as optimised flotation. Thanks to its low weight, the Blaze is also popular as a freeride and touring ski. For this purpose, Völkl offers specially adapted skins in all sizes for all Blaze models.
