The Mantra comes with a different geometry and a one-meter shortened center radius in the 3D Radius Sidecut. It is important to know that the three different radii combined in one ski generally guarantee extremely versatile turning characteristics. The 16 m center radius increases the variability of the radius even more. Fans of tight, fully square and cut turns will get their money's worth. This allows for a particularly sporty and intuitive skiing style on groomed slopes, but also ensures the necessary maneuverability for better handling on demanding terrain. The Mantra 88 also features custom-made carbon tips and a custom-made titanium frame, which clearly show that driving fun is the Mantra's middle name. Tailor-made technologies – exclusive to Völkl The custom-made Titanal frame used on the Mantra, Secret, Kendo and Kenja models is a further development of the well-known Titanal frame. Thanks to this design, the width of the Titanal top sheet can be adapted to the length of the ski and the resulting torsional stiffness as well as the required damping behavior of the skier. The proportion of Titanal is reduced for shorter skis, so that smaller or lighter skiers can also get the most out of their skis with little effort. The Mantra 88 is extremely versatile thanks to the custom-made carbon tips. The carbon fibers applied using the custom fiber placement process (TFP for short) enable optimum control of the turning behavior. The thickness and orientation of the fibers define the required force and energy accumulation exactly where it is needed. The agile retraction of the blade is a particularly positive feature. This means that the ski can be skied into the turn in a controlled and easy manner as soon as the turn is initiated. You could say that you just have to think about changing direction and it's done. In addition, this construction allows for weight reduction without loss of stability. The Mantra 88 with tip and tail rocker also incorporates the proven multi-layer wood core, surrounded by a continuous edge and a P-Tex 2100 base.
